      1. Hey man I’ve been researching the best possible builds and what not for my note 5 i just acquired for gaming. I normally use my Sony xz1 but its size is just to disappointing and I’m enjoying the note(920w8). I understand your a very busy person clearly but im willing to give you a donation if you might go over a few quick things with me. Im talking probably 15 mins of your day at the most and probabaly not even but yeah if you might email me back. Clientale1235@gmail.com. to go over quickly what I’m wondering about and as well how i might donate your way. I’m sorry, I’m fairly new to posting and I’m probably not 100 % knowledgeable about everything but I’m no stranger to rooting, flashing roms till im blue in the face and frp unlocking/network unlocking. Please just delete this if you have no interest in helping. And sorry if i wasted your time. Basically I’m just wondering in your opinion what fw, rom, kernel, and or mods i should use on my 920w8. I don’t need an in depth guide to everything I am just looking for names and download links if possible to what you think my phone will be best with. Ty again for your time and all your work on your kernels.

    1. Sorry to bother u, sir. I’ve found some abnormal things on my Note5 N920i (PL2 Stock Firmware & viper4android & xposed87.1 & default synapse settings). The music apps will behave strange and it’ll sizzle if I turn off the screen. If the screen is on and everything sounds normal. I’ve tried to set the frequency of A53 at 1500mhz and it sounds normal, too. This phenomenon only appears when I use wired headphone and bluetooth & DLNA works fine.
Please tell me how to fix this and it’s much nice of u to develop this nice kernel.

      1. Have a read in Synapse ‘Multicore’ page and set Invisible CPUset to ‘All cores’. If still no good, try disable it and reboot. This option is also available to set default when you customise during Aroma installer

      2. Reflashed the kernel with default setting and cleaned the cache. The sound still sizzles whenever the screen is on or off. And sometimes the phone freezes with the screeon on and music is stuck. No idea what is going wrong and still thanks a lot for the kernel

  1. Hi! I’m the guy who wrote you an email about trying to find your site. Finally it turned up after doing quite a bit of clicking on XDA 🙂

I downloaded and installed the latest version (7.00) of Skyhigh on my Note 5 and, sure enough, it’s rock solid! You’re truly a genius. I hope you’ll continue your awesome work.

  3. Hi all, it looks like those half-witted XDA Moderators with a single digit IQ level have taken it upon themselves to fabricate bedtimes stories and BAN me. . .

Having spent and SHARED for much of my time there, and particularly for many many variants that I do not own, apparently makes me “selfish”. A bunch of whiny pin dicks.

Excuse me for that Xtreme kernel dipstick stealing SkyHigh kernel v3.4 and passing it off as his own, and without a shed of credit to the actual builder (UpInTheAir). Excuse me for pointing out and insisting to the Mods that that klong viet ROM refused to provide source and was being supported by XDA in a “discussion” thread. And guess who was behind it all, KennyG123. He openly and privately supported this !

This Moderator and others refused to provide EVIDENCE and back up their statements posted within PMs and the forums. I have seen some of his posts are now conveniently edited after the fact ,. . . . He thinks people were born yesterday. He thinks I actually care. Not as much as he may expect. He thinks I don’t have a tonne more screenshots to back up my claims. He thinks wrong. I just expose a teaser of his idiocy, believe me there is plenty more that can further substantiate all of my claims and show his real mental capacity. . . .

  4. I’m getting sleep of death on the kernel of N9208. I fixed it by Turning the Samsung SPCM Service from ‘Enabled’ to ‘Disabled’. I flashed it on a stock firmware and default settings. I’m on it for a few days already and it’s working very well. Thank you!

    1. No idea. A friend of mine has been using and testing N9208 kernel for a long time, including the latest release and the next…..

Disabling that should make no difference and probably unrelated.

At least you have it stable, which in the end is great.

      1. You’re right. I still had screen of death. I cleaned the data of synapse then restarted. I added more voltage to stabilize. I’ll wait for 3 days then I’ll give a feedback again if nothing happens. Thanks again!

  5. Downloaded and installed v.7.1.0 – rock solid as usual.

May I ask – are your updates based on patching security flaws and/or other general improvements created by you, or do they also include stuff from any patches Samsung made to its stock kernel.

    Just wondering.

You don’t post the change log here on your site, or is it just on the installer?

Please be prepared, v7.3.0 + will have F2FS support removed unless compatibility with TWRP and wiping anything from /data/____ is sorted.

  7. Thanks for your kernel! Would you like to add support n9208 taiwan? When i flash this kernel on n9208 taiwan, it say that cant patch ramdisk. But device still boots to homescreen and everything is ok. And do you have another way to donate you because paypal does not support donation from vietnam @@ that is strang because i can still buy many things by paypal.

    1. Not to worry. I’m not. That’s what the spam button is for 🙂 I could just lock the whole thing down, wouldn’t matter if I did. The kernel is so fast and stable right now, and even better once I update to v7.3.0 sometime this week — Friday latest. Most likely last update for a while, unless urgent. Update includes a few new source merges, features I don’t bother to advertise and disable F2FS support 😉 All good.

Only once I have encountered an issue where my device was totally stuck on the home screen when I tried to unlock the screen..
Don’t know what exactly it is, as I’m new to custom world…

    My device model : SM-N920G
    Firmware : N920GUBU3BPJ3
    ROM : MMB29K.N920GDDU3BPJ3
    Kernel: SkyHigh MM 7.2
    Bootloader :
    Synapse: Not installed
Tweaks and Apps: Xposed framework (wanam), BootManager, Flat Style Bar Indicators, MinMinGuard, XTouchWiz, Youtube Background Playback…
Other Root Apps: Liveboot app and SuperSU…
Other observations: ***Device restarted itself after boot.
Battery at the time of issue: 9%
Steps taken to resolve issue: Power button didn’t allow decice to shutdown so I tried volume down+home+power and device restarted…***after boot I kept it idle for 5 minutes and then the device restarts itself.
After that its working normally now.

Hope it helps..if more info required then I’m ready to help…

  11. Well, I was planning to have v7.3.0 released, but I got busy with a lot of new source merges to respective branches. Then I built v7.4.0, but an underlying bug I thought I neutered it still persistent. Although maybe different one altogether. Unfortunately, this could take time to sort out. I’ve reverted to some older builds for a bit of medium-term testing . . .

The latest Hong Kong is N9200ZHU3BPK2 , so I suggest to use that firmware as it’s the same as kernel source and ramdisk I build with.

  17. Dear thieving POS,

Do you or any other dumb-ass believe that I actually care if I shut down all outside comments in the blogs ? Fuck no !! One of the reasons this site was created to prove a point to those thieving Kangland morons. And it’s more than served that. But not finished just yet !! Yes, some thieving morons and those that support such behavior will be exposed. 10 people or a 1000. Who really cares. Those that know me certainly know that !! Now go fuck off and STEAL someone else’s hard earned credit. You and your kind are just unimaginative code leeches I really don’t give a shit about. But this site is fun project and took very little effort to get off the ground. It’s mine. . . . . I do things because I can and don’t give a shit. I don’t have to answer to pipsqueaks like you and those Kangland “recognized” halfwits. Ha Ha.

Those thieving morons that think this is “beginners stuff”, yeah. what else do you expect. It’s a hobby you fucking idiot. People like you have never created one single line of original code, even hobbyist like me just laugh at you. Ha. You thieves are just a joke, not even worth the toilet paper to wipe my ass. That’s why you desperate fucks have always stolen others work and passed it off as your own. That’s all you’re good at. And you are still too thick to comprehend the legalities of GPLv2 ? Maybe you are that “dumb-ass”?

Here is a reminder and SkyHigh policy in simple terms for simpletons. . .

    GPLv2 COMPLIANT SOURCE :

Does dumb-ass (aka KennyG123) actually comprehend GPLv2 compliance? Fuck no !!

My builds are released within the legal framework of the GPLv2 License. SkyHigh kernels sources are released in archive format (same as majority from O.E.M.), and will incur a DISTRIBUTION FEE.

    This is perfectly legal and referenced within the source ‘COPYING‘ file ;
You may charge a fee for the physical act of transferring a copy, and you may at your option offer warranty protection in exchange for a fee.

The DISTRIBUTION FEE will be determined on a per-application basis and fully paid in advance. If you don’t like that, then take it up with the license.

Having support for 17x variants is quite time consuming, taking up 1000’s of hours of my own personal time. The majority understand and appreciate this, for which I am grateful. Just remember, nothing is “free” . . . . . credit and my hard work should not be STOLEN !!

And yes, I do sleep very well at night. Thanks you very much for asking, dipshit.

  18. As i ve been on the end of both sticks, being kanged and kanged like crazy and being called for it after the devs actually started bashing me like mad for porting their mods form their cm based to touchwiz as it had been requested sooo many times byusers. After being ignored by them devs i took their shit diffed it with cm and ported it myself to touchwiz. they almost go tthe boot for being disrepectfull, actually little did I knew back then, that mod actually made first page of XDA. after a few more release they had still not published any of their source so i went and published what I had on a known gerrit, this actually gave birth to a big rom that had nothing to do with me. sure I get where some guys come from getting mad, and I dont know the whole story since ive been inactive for a few years, the whole idea is to grow as a community and some ppl tend to want more respect then they actually deserve for their hobby. Not saying its your case but you know sometimes respect and patience goes a long way.

Again I do not know 10% of your story just thaught id share this here since i stumbled on it looking for a decent kernel for my note5. Great job btw.

    1. Exynos7420 Development is stifled at Kangland, and that was the original intention of the site. Not a playground for overbearing childish dipstick M00derators that most have’t even “developed” or shared anything this century . . . They then preach to those that spent probably 10,000 hours to contribute and share their hobby with others. Most appreciate that, but as always, a few trolls are never happy (which I couldn’t care less about). That’s why I “left”. I knew a ban was coming, and didn’t give a toss. Sick of tired having to put up this total fabrication of lies, hypocrisy and support of those that don’t actually “contribute” but steal not only credit, but intellectual property. That is not collaboration, nor ethical. SO fuck them. They actually had nothing on me, so just made shit up. I demanded that they provide evidence of present and past instances of non-compliance. That evidence was never put forward. I reported them for harassment (which I knew was futile), but was fun anyway. They illegally messed with my signature links and I reported the hacking. Someone (KennyG123) had messed with it back in May, and I was given a 1 month ban for something I didn’t do. I accused another, but am now certain it was him. He did make a public apology (called it a “sever glitch” in PM) . . .. No co-incidence. All this BS really started when I was a “Recognized spoon-feeder” (aka Recognized Contributor) at Kangland. I don’t think they ever got over the way I handed it back to them. Judge Judy and the lot. A bunch of drama queens actually.

There are some that think I’m stuck here in the “abyss”. Far from the truth. I’m happy just doing my thing. Not concerned with fame and lining pockets as some there have you believe. That’s why I created this blog BEFORE I left. I can do what I wish. No pandering. Fuck all. I can shut it down, and couldn’t care less. Why would I want to be part of that “community”?

“RESPECT” and credibility is earned mate, not STOLEN or FABRICATED. You don’t gain anything by stealing others credibility and property rights and support such behaviour. That does not encourage collaboration, but certainly does make that “community” much poorer for it.

My “Name and Shame” blog will be populated this month. I’ve got some screenshots and dialogue to link up. Not a priority of mine, and BS never is. It’s just a little bit of fun to exposed part to the truth and moronic attitude of some that pretend they are there to “help” other than inflate egos that don’t match the size of there pecker . . . :))

  21. A funny thing happened during installation of v7.50. It went well until it hit 65% then it said the following:

    Extracting Ramdisk
    Decompressing Ramdisk
    — Failure, aborting

After that the installation froze up, stuck at 65%. I waited for about 10 minutes and nothing happened. Assuming something had gone wrong, I pressed and held the power button for a few seconds. TWRP returned and prompted me to reboot. When I did, the phone booted normally and when I checked, version 7.50 was installed. The phone is up and running, working perfectly.

What do you suppose might could happened? I’ve installed many of your previous versions and there’s never been a problem. Be that as it may, take pride in the fact that even when your kernels hit a snag, in the end they still work!

Rock solid on my N920C with N920CXXS3BPL7 firmware base with kernel defaults. Perhaps you need a firmware update. If you don’t have available, then nothing I can do …. use older SkyHigh. But as I said,….. too much guessing. You should know private mode has nothing to do with the kernel. Google it. Patch your ROM.

  23. Hi! I installed the v7.6 on my Note 5. This time the installation was clean as a whistle with no freeze-ups. Murphy’s Law in action – disasters happen only when you do not know what the problem is and/or are ill-prepared to deal with them.

Did you fix (or tweak) the Aroma installation bug or do these freeze-ups occur purely at random? Just curious…

    1. I don’t think you get it. It’s an Aroma binary issue. Nothing I can do about it other than revert to a laggy older version. If the user fails to read the pop-up or the site “bugs” section, can’t do anything about that either.

Hey UitA, dude I’m a huge fan of your work and also want to say personally I reached all of the same conclusions that you have after looking on XDA and seeing the whole back n forth between you all I found myself asking, “Wait where and who exactly are these guys even claiming UitA stole from?” So I started trying to track down where you were dropping your newest changes at and here I am!

I hate TouchWiz but your kernel is the absolute top dog for optimization for our devices, and since this isnt XDA, I just wanna say you dedicate alot of time and valued consideration to help users make shit work RIGHT, and some (Arter97 particularly) don’t give a f*ck and will purposely mislead (then laugh at) you if you’re a noob. And the way you integrated synapse into it all makes it possible for people to LEARN from it, anyway im rambling bro great job great kernel.

    1. Don’t know what or who you refer to about “stole from”… There are many at Kangland that have stolen intellicual property (copyrighted materal) from me. That’s a FACT. They have stolen my Synpase, ramdisk and installer implemenation. Even removed the legal licence !! Now,
kangland dipshit M00derators support this, and also support fabrication of lies to support unethical practices. They turned the Note5 forums into a “war-zone”. It’s all on them and their childish games. Fuck them. If someone has something to say, well provide the eveidence. There is none on me.

On the other hand, there is a “developer” of “Xtreme” kernel who I reported for stealing my credit. He Stole SkyHigh kerbnel v3.4, changed the kernel version name and passed it off as his own. Whilst open-source, he refused to acknowledge credit of the source import from SkyHigh. M00derator Malybru actioned the report, by was still an open case after ONE month at the time I left. I provided an open-shut case and with a step by step method of proof with access to my git repo. This Xtreme dipshit had previously trolled my N920C thread whishing to compile SkyHigh but changing the kernel verion string (re-badge it). He then changed his Kangland user name and opened a thread at Samsung Vietnam, followed by Kangland . . . . There are other theives too : The Sickness, Tkkg1994, Voltaqe etc etc

I wasn’t really “banned”, I actually left, hence this site was created BEFORE that time. It has served a purpose . . . . Those Kanglang M00derators were hasling me over kernel source and even threatening actions dues to “previous” source non-complioance. What a load of wank. I demaded they provide the EVIDENCE and to stop the harassment. They never did. KennyG123 even edited his public posts to try cover his tracks from what was said and timeline. I made an official report on the whole thing, but of course I knew it would go unanswered. Those same faceless and cowardly people are the ones that govern themselves. Rules for some ae not for others. A hypocritical and corrupt system. BUT, I don’t care anymore. haven’t for a long time. They couldn’t provide EVIDENCE, so they just fabricate lies and BS in public forum and PMs. I have links to a couple screenshots in a earlier post. It shows their “reasoning” behind the ban. . . . There is nothing. They are just full of waffle. Years and 10,000 hours contributing must be “selfish” and not what they expect at XDA. Supported theives and this collabortaion in support of that is unethical, something I won’t be a part of.

I could go on and on, but fuck it. I’ll add this shit to my name and shame page soon
      enough . . . .

Although he did have a hand in them, Rainbow Dash was never the real (main) creator of
those ROMs. It was a friend. Anyway, I don’t support any CM ROMs, and anything I’d done in the past was just a favour. . . .

Just be aware, I do intend to be culling the level of support. Some users will have to
visit Kangland and flash stolen and unoriginal shit. That’s what that once great site has turned into.. . .

Its another giant flame war with some very talented folks, actually its a pretty funny easter egg when I flashed on this last build that was the first time I had noticed the thanks added in to you. And no joke these CM builds are making me tolerate this device since there is basically nobody developing SHIT other than you much anymore, all I’ve ever seen in XDA was potential, and sadly Android seems to be becoming a “Point & Click” type of place…… Idk bro these things are the same as a Meizu Pro5 when you look at it from a spec level, they’re capable of Ubuntu Touch, the mods pick and choose which kernels you use, which framework is allowed apparently, its really sad, it’s exactly what keeps me from learning Java or going past what I know now, because I know how it really is.

      3. You probably misunderstood an earlier reply. As a favour, I only built a few test versions of SkyHigh kernel for a friends private group CM ROM. My kernel was never officially packaged with it and was available only within a private group. I don’t actually like CM, but do support those that attempt to show creativity and originality etc. I am no longer involved with any non stock TW ROM.

I’ve just gone through some of my old folder’s and pulled out a few screenshots. I still need to add them to name and shame. Those recognised thieves I don’t believe have anything to do with CM.

(If that is correct to do, i.e. will work with my modem)

I know there are processes for unpacking the firmware, editing build.prop and then repacking the firmware. What about editing the firmware name so it tricks the bootloader into allowing me to odin flash? It doesn’t give me kernel access but that downgrade would make my phone a world better. For how I use my phone MM kills my battery in short order.

I’m going to pay off my AT&T Note 5 then unlock it and move to another carrier, I think T-Mobile. Whichever is easiest to root on Marshmallow 6.01 Nov sec patch. I like this phone but I can’t handle not being able to install what I want.

Android MM memory management works fine with stock ROM and defaults provided by SkyHigh. If you are having issues, then suggest to stick with stock ROM and remove any bullshit placebo and interfering ROM “tweaks” and scripts provided by Kangland “Recognised spoon-feeders”. The majority have no clue and just fuck things up. If you want to mess up memory management, there is also a whole section on that in Synapse . . . . .

Hotplugging works well LMK on stock was great too, and he is right btw, most of the ROM devs have no idea what they are doing, even from a remotely dull perspective of view these guys don’t remove too much, mostly just throw ALL the LIBs together + base and then allow u to decide if some apps make it on or not to save a little space (not much) and pretty sure UitA will agree 99% of the UX and note7 AOD ports are just not worth the fucking trouble!
Only use shit distrubuted by this guy, arter97 (hate to say that), MisterJunkey, or Samsung….. These phones are the most complicated setup I’ve encountered thus far, and I remember when this line still had dev love :).

    1. Well. I’m hoping the next will be better. There’s always improvements in both kernel and ramdisk. Was on the verge of a release, but still trying to resolve an ongoing bug : mobile data + VPN + deep sleep may cause random reboot or SoD. I’m currently back on SkyHigh v6.2.0 for testing !! The issue has at times taken anywhere from 0.5 hours to a couple days before anything turned up. I do not have any issue using WiFi + VPN + deep sleep.

Most of those “tweaks” are unoptimized and generic. Many for LL ICS or earlier. Some not appropriate for device either. But they “know best”….. SMH. I implement a few efficiency / performance patches and let Sammy do the rest. My Synapse is about options, so user can fiddle with that (if they know better) 🙂

Apparently, it turned out to be a “sever glitch” that was responsible for the one month “holiday”. It was due to apparently me “re-adding” a screenshot link to my signature that caused me to get a previous one week ban. It showed evidence to contradiction and moronic attitude of the acting Moderator, jcase. What a dick! I never “re-added” anything and server records would prove that. A public apology was made in my threads about the unjustified ban by KennyG123……

Funny thing is that the days just prior to my permanent ban, my signature was once again hacked and modified without notice or consent. I reported that and also the person believed responsible….. KennyG123.

        No coincidence either.

This is mentioned in the troubleshooting guide…

  44. Been trying to “perfect” the changes to the next an most likely final release. Nearly there….

A friend of mine passed on a message to a couple (I think “unbiased”) XDA Moderators, asking if they would like me to make available to those members my git repos (full commits and original authorship) for both kernel source, ramdisk and build environment. So far they haven’t replied, so whether they just ignore it or still deliberating, I don’t know. It’s no bother. Many Mods there are happy to support stealing of intellectual property and credit (KennyG123, Darth). The same (looking at their profiles) have’t actually done much (or any) developing themselves, nor anything with originality. It’s an inbred culture. I do know that my work would have benefit for many there to study. But I’m not just going to open my repos though without a little in return. ………

So, I could help out those kangers and thieves, or let them meander on into the abyss. Totally up to them whether they want to actually help or hinder their own members. The offer is not on the table for very long. I’m changing my licensing (right now), but may have to revert for the final release and leave it at that . . .

The only major bug (mobile data + VPN + deep sleep) will remain unresolved. I have an idea, and simple “fix” which may require a compromise I’m not willing to do.

This is the sort of shit-stain that Kangland dishes “recognized” titles to……….. They can go fuck right off. So, my latest fixes remain with me (for now).

But, I’ll be distributing my source and build scripts to just a couple of friends. I know one that loves his Linux and built a few kernels for it. Just a shame that I’ve never had the time for that !! Doubt there would be much difference though, Android is derived from Linux.

The phone is with the original firmware 5.1.1 and the original recovery, however the Kernel is modified with the Kernel SkyHigh v2.5, when doing the hard reset from Settings it results that the computer restarts and enters the recovery but soon me Gives at the bottom a message that says:
    “dm-verity verification failed”

Restart and obviously not reset anything and I continue with my normal system, I do not want to reset with the key combination as it could completely damage the firmware ..

Because reason would have changed only the kernel ..? The imei in settings is equal to the casing on the phone, everything works perfectly but I fear that I happen to problems that I read in other forums that I have no imei or permanent bootloop …!
However I need to upgrade to 6.1.1 and install some of the ModRoms and recoverys that are available.

Please what is it that I should do with this my situation in this problem ..?
